Innovation and Invention

はい~ もしもし!!

The main topic today is about the process of invention and innovation refering to this article: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/tech/article/the-pc-is-dead-long-live-the-tablet/

What does it tell us about the process of invention and innovation? Hmm..I still wondering.
Innovation is the development of new customers value through solutions that meet new needs while invention is an improvement upon a machine or product.

According to a Gartner report out November 6, 821 million smartphones and tablets will be purchased by the end of the year, accounting for 70 per cent of total devices sold in 2012. Wow! that's a lot. The first smartphones combined the functions of a personal digital assistant (PDA) with a mobile phone, later models added the functionality of portable media players, low-end compact digital cameras, pocket video cameras, and GPS navigation units to form one multi-use device. Smartphone is an invention. From mobile they added many function and it became better and better.

But what does the article tell us about process of invention and innovation? The process is begin by the researcher do a lot of research to think about invention and innovation. They research about life-style, social and uses and then, create a device. What was it? it's a smartphone, an innovation from phone and PDA. They create something that people never think about it in year before, now it's infront of our eyes. But the invention and innovation not stop yet because now we have tablet!

From invention and innovation they create a tablet. The company also believes that by 2016, tablets will have replaced computers in most companies and that more of us will become mobile workers as a result. So, we maybe don't need an office. This what we call an invention, an improvement upon a machine or product. We don't need computer, but is it true?

As recently as 15 years ago, the technology we used at work — including phones and desktop and laptop computers — was far more expensive and powerful than anything in the average home.
Now the tables have turned and the mobile and desktop devices people take for granted at home are far superior to what they find sitting on their desks when they come into work in the morning.

The invention and innovation make people life easy and simple. But, how the far we can go?
The process of invention and innovation will go on and so on. It will never stop until the world stop spinnig.
